A young boy selling Gutkas at a Railway Station

This picture was taken by me during my journey from Mumbai to Bihar in the beginning of March 2011. We have been so much used to see such scenes that we forget the violation of rules. Do I need to point out that all this is happening right in the premises of government owned Indian Railways?

Uparkot - Junagarh - Gujarat

Junagadh (Gujarat) : The UparKot area a nice place to visit, One can Enjoy Picnic there.

But, The mail problem is the monuments have not been maintained. The structures may be older than 100 years and I atracts many foreign tourist every year. But there are no designated authorities for maintanace.

There is the same place near Gandhinagar (Gujarat) and the same problem..

Political hoardings everywhere!

Tens of hundreds of such hoardings (many of them being very large in size)are seen almost everywhere in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Most of them are either self-congratulating (e.g. 'Congratulations to ABC for winning in the election') or wishing the public on some festival (e.g. 'Happy New Year to all by ABC party').

It's the wastage of public money, at the end. Shouldn't there be regulations on the usage of such media of advertisement by politicians?

A scene in Maharastra State Assembly

It's simply a Mockery of democracy. Four MNS MLAs were suspended from the House for four years after this piece of hooliganism. Let's expect a little more sanity in our assemblies now.

Inside a Mumbai local train coach

I often wonder why it's so easy for people to post their advertisement posters/stickers free of cost in the coaches of local trains in Mumbai. The coaches of the local trains are full of such advertisements, most of them being of sex clinics, spoken English coaching, computer classes and medicines. Some of them often happen to be the advertisement of some baba's or Devi's discourse. They spoil the inside appearance of the train.

No one - neither the citizens nor the railway officials - seems to be bothered.
